Privacy policy

Updated November 7, 2026

This policy explains what happens to your data when you use unbiasedwheel.com (“Unbiased Wheel”, “we”, “us”). The short version: the tools run in your browser, the lists you type stay on your device, and there are no accounts and no database of users.

Who is responsible

Unbiased Wheel is run by Tanveer Azam Ansari, who is the controller for the processing described here. Contact: contact@unbiasedwheel.com. Postal address: see the Impressum (legal notice, in German).

What you type into the tools

Everything you enter into a tool — names, lists, settings and results — is processed in your browser. It is not uploaded to our servers or anyone else’s. Results are generated on your device with your browser’s built-in random number generator.

Data saved on your device

To remember your lists, settings and history between visits, the tools use your browser’s local storage. Every key starts with decision:. This data never leaves your device unless you share it yourself. You can delete it at any time with the Clear my data button at the bottom of every page, or in your browser’s site-data settings.

Some tools can create a link that contains your list or setup. That information sits in the part of the address after the # (the fragment). Browsers never send the fragment to a web server, and our pages remove it from the address bar as soon as the page opens, before any advertising or analytics script loads. Anyone you give a link to can see what it contains, so share it the way you would share the list itself.

Hosting and security

The site is delivered by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the page you requested in order to deliver the site and protect it against abuse. It does so on our behalf, under its data processing addendum. We don’t use this data to identify you. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Analytics

  • Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without cookies and without building a profile of you. We see totals such as page views, referring sites and countries.
  • Google Analytics 4 is used to learn which tools are used. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland it doesn’t load at all unless you agree in the consent message; elsewhere it runs with Google Consent Mode. To tell which applies, the site asks Cloudflare, on this site’s own address, which country your connection comes from; that answer stays in your browser and isn’t stored. We never send the content of your lists to analytics, and page addresses are reported without the part after the #. Google Signals is off, and Google Analytics data is kept for no longer than 14 months.

Advertising

Unbiased Wheel is funded by advertising. When ads are shown, they are provided by Google AdSense, which may use cookies and similar technologies to show and measure ads and, where you allow it, to personalize ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can turn off personalized ads in Google’s ad settings and find other companies’ opt-outs at aboutads.info. Ads never appear inside a tool, in full-screen or presentation mode, in stream (OBS) views or in embedded tools.

Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland see a consent message from a Google-certified consent management platform before advertising or analytics cookies are used. You can change your choice at any time with the Privacy settings link at the bottom of every page once ads are active. Visitors from US states with privacy laws can use the same link to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising.

Cookies and similar technologies

  • Needed for the tools: local storage keys starting with decision: that keep your tools’ data on your device. They are not cookies and are never sent to a server.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics cookies, only with your consent where the law requires it. Cloudflare Web Analytics sets no cookies.
  • Advertising: Google AdSense and partner cookies, only with your consent where the law requires it.
  • Delivering and securing the site: our legitimate interest in running a safe, working website (Article 6(1)(f)).
  • Analytics and advertising cookies in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland: your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.
  • Answering your emails: our legitimate interest in replying to you (Article 6(1)(f)).

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct or delete personal data about you, object to or restrict its processing, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. Because we keep no accounts or user records, most data about a visit is held by the providers named above; email us and we’ll help with any request. Residents of US states with privacy laws can opt out of targeted advertising through Privacy settings.

Right to object: where we rely on our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)), you can object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation.

We make no decisions based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Children

Unbiased Wheel is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.

International transfers

Cloudflare and Google may process data outside your country, including in the United States. They rely on legal safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Unbiased Wheel is run from India: emails you send us are forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to a Google (Gmail) mailbox and read there.

Emails

If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply, and we delete the conversation when it is no longer needed.
